The Facebook Phone Book
Posted in Blog, latest news | 22 comments
Here’s a little Facebook Phone Book secret I bet you probably were not aware off.
If you’re like me then you have been steadily building a list of Facebook friends over the years that are made up of a targeted list of home based business owners, entrepreneurs, small business owners and Network Marketers.
And you’ve been quietly trickling bits of information to this list in the form of tips, videos and blog posts etc with the intention of inviting them back to your websites and into your email marketing list.
Well what if you could actually get a hold of your facebook friends phone numbers and give them a call and bypass the whole slow process of email marketing funnels?
Just pick up the phone and TALK TO THEM!
Want to know where FaceBook keeps their coveted “FaceBook PhoneBook,” and how you can get instant access to HUNDREDS of leads you already generated, but didn’t even know you had?
Well watch this video below and discover the 1732 prospect Facebook Phone numbers I have and how you can get hold of your Facebook Phonebook Directory in seconds.

I learned something new, thanks for sharing.
Thanks for sharing.
Don`t you think you miss the point there?
the auto responder gets you connected with targeted leads and working with those on a webinar, giving those who are serious the chance to get connected personally, would be more effective, time and money saving and most of all, welcomed by the receiver.
Great post Chris. How’s it been going so far for building your business?
See you at the top!

Hi Amnon. I don’t think I have missed the point at all here mate.
I agree with you about getting the optin and follow up with a webinar. But if you really want to connect with someone personally and not get lost in the DOZENS of emails that most of us get everyday from marketers all over the world, then picking up the phone is a more personal way to go.
It takes more time, and is not free (although skype is fairly cheap) but making use of the Facebook Phone book can be VERY powerful for your business if used the right way.
You could give them a call and invite them to optin in to your autoresponder to receive an offer of some kind. Just as a friendly invite from one facebook friend to another.???
That’s just an idea and like I said in the video, I will be testing this out and let you know how I go.
Thanks for the comment.

Hi Terry.
Business is great. I focused on too many areas for a while but now having a clearer idea of my business model is helping with time management.
I’m now turning away business that does not fit my model.

When you say that you have 4000+ contacts on Facebook, then it tells me that you simply use facebook for same purpose as LinkedIn, Twitter and other more public social media services.
There is a fine ethical line between use and abuse of online contacts. I believe the line goes between LinkedIn (professional networking) and Facebook (personal networking).
People don’t expect their personal details on FB to be harvested by marketers. That is the reason for the fuss whenever people discover that apps exploit their fb details for marketing purposes. It is also the reason they don’t mind putting their phone number in there in the first place – fb provides a great live phone book for private contacts (generally real and up to date) – but it is for private use. What people may not realise is that if they have a big contact network, then their detail may be harvested by persons they are hardly aware of. People usually eliminate news updates from peripheral persons from their news feeds, and then forget that the persons are still part of their network.
I know what my reaction would be if someone in my facebook network harvested and used my contact details to try to sell me something: not only would I instantly kick them out of my contact list, I would also brand them as intrusive spammers and NEVER do business with them again!
However, I do frequently get marketing updates via LinkedIn and that is OK, I expect it. LinkedIn is designed to assist professional networking, and connections are not called ‘friends’. While some family and friends are in my network, it is primarily professional contacts and I don’t put details up there that I don’t want to expose to strangers. Same with Twitter – marketing is OK, although if it is too much then I will stop following the person/company. Those are appropriate, public channels for network marketing.
Hi Anna,
I agree with you 100% here. Initially when I grew a facebook profile it was to build as big a contact list as possible of like minded people in my industry. Network marketers, home based business owners, entrepreneurs, real estate agents etc… I have also created groups around these industry’s which also have thousands of members in them.
Then over time, as I discovered Facebook Fan Pages it became the obvious choice to build a fan page for your personal brand and keep your Facebook profile page more personal for friends and family, but by then it was too late… the damage was done. I had already reached over 3500 associations on my profile page.
Also it did take about 2 years for my family and friends to join Facebook after me. They were quite slow to come around.
So my point is that the people in my profile page are 95% marketers themselves or want to be in one way or another and the discovery of the Facebook phone book provides an opportunity to reach these internet entrepreneurs/prospects in a more personal, targeted way… If you decide to use it.
I work from home and every day I receive about 1-4 calls from telemarketers trying to sell me everything from roof insulation to a new website and I just hang up on them because I have not asked for them to call me, and in fact I am annoyed that they do.
BUT… consider this point of view… If someone has followed me on Facebook its because they know I am an internet marketer and have an interest in what i have to say and the information I have to provide, and I would hope that they would be happy to receive a call from me, otherwise why befriend me in the first place?
I think the two are totally different scenarios. 1 is a random sales pitch or cold call, the other is furthering the relationship started online.
I do agree that it could be creepy to have some random facebook friend call you out of the blue and start pitching you on their business, but I am not saying you should do that, in fact I am saying don’t do that.
Making random phone calls is not the way to go about it, but my point in this post was just to show that there does exist a phone book on facebook that marketers can use to contact their facebook friends (if they choose) other than just by updates and PM’s.
How they go about contacting people off their Facebook phone book, if they even do at all, is up to them.
Personally I still haven’t contacted anyone myself as I don’t like chasing people and I hate rejection. I prefer people chasing me wanting what I have. That puts me in a position of power in the relationship and I like it that way.
Social Media has created new and exciting possibilities for us, has given us greater transparency and information and friendships than ever before, but we must be careful how we use that information and not to abuse the friendships.
Thanks for commenting Anna.
Have a nice day
Chris Reid.
